Ermmm... I didn't really understand that - how much have you been drinking? Drink and swaging don't mix.

German silver coating? German silver is nickel silver which is the base metal (though some makers use brass tubing for key barrels) and is silver plated.

Polish your swaging pliers up to a mirror finish so they don't scratch the silver plate, then after swaging (with the screw inside the key barrel so you don't crimp it) , burnish the key barrel (with a highly polished steel burnisher so it too doesn't scratch the silver) to remove any marks and polish up with a silvercloth to get a bright finish on the silver. Then fraise the end of the barrel so it's square with the adjacent pillar or key barrel making sure you don't fraise it back too much which will mean you have to swage (or swedge) it again, further narrowing the diameter of the key barrel.
