for me, 'some parts of' and 'a portion of' and 'fitting data to the formula' doesn't equal a close enough fit, we need gloves, not socks, toques or egg cosies, to fit hands

if the sequence is 0 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 (55) and if that was in millimeters with 0 at the tip, this sequence just doesn't describe the proportions of any oboe reed from tip to cork end of tube

Even if you make that 2mm per number 0 2 2 4 6 10 16 26 42 (68)
or 3mm per number 0 3 3 6 9 15 24 39 (62) -- ditto

something more obviously proportioned might be
47mm tube / 70.5mm reed = 1.5
46mm tube / 69mm reed = 1.5

on the other points you mention, from your YouTube demo and info given on the board i've absolutely no doubt whatever that you've discovered some really wonderful things about reed-making and oboe playing

scientifically converting what you know to make an electronic reed diagnostic gadget (or even a computer-guided reed-maker that can deliver darn good pro-approved reeds, any scrape, a dime a dozen) -- that's tough -- so K.I.S.S. the problem, lay all the simplest correct foundations first

-- the issue then -- is Fib. sequence correct as a foundation for defining where to cut the reed proportionately after analysing the complex sound it makes? Or do you need other algorithms as a foundation?
And, even if Fib. seems to fit the heart when placed just so, would another algorithm fit even better when placed any which way?
