Hey, its fun to delve into this sort of contemplation, eh?
Even though strings under tension like on guitar or piano have some acoustical properties very different from our vibrating reed and wind column, there are certain strong similarities in ways and I think having a analogy like yours helps the visualization of possibilities.
And visualizig the vibrating string of a guitar as a whole (fundamental), in halfs (1st octave), 3rds, 4ths, etc., relates it nicely to the overtone series.
And part of that aligns with Fibonacci... 1,1,2,3,5,8,13...
It would be great to have a way to graph sound samples, or play them through a plugin to see wave forms and then watch as slight changes to a reed cause alterations in wave forms, relative distribution of sound energy across the partials, and how pitch and efficieny of energy translates into our sound.
Anyone know if any free-ware plugins that do that sort of thing?
