Ahh as a future school music educator let me just say that this conductor's behavior is way out of line. But if I were in this situation & i am glad I'm NOT, all one can do in this type of situation is to remain calm. t's really too bd you have to deal with him. When I layed in my Jr college symphony & our maestro made a rehearsal technique of sitting up on the podium & pouted whenever we didn't play to his liking, I decided early on that i would NOT return and I didn't! So now they have NO oboes in the orchestra.
It's no that I disagreed at the INFORMATION he attempted to convey, it was just his manner in accomplishing communicating this info.
And no, you are not being oversensitive or anything of the sort. Though you are to be commended for looking to yourself before placing the blame where it belongs...on your maestro!
