E and F at the top of the staff can be very bad notes if your reed does not play up to pitch. That is, if the reed is flat but you are compensating with your embouchure, the E and F will likely be unstable. One way to help stabilize the E is to put down the low B key, which will also make the E more resonant.
But changing your fingering for E doesn't really work as a long-term solution. It's better just to use reeds that plays up to pitch.
I think you can also have a problem with E if the low Bb resonance vent does not seal well. At least, this is what I've heard, it's never happened with any of my oboes so I don't have any first hand experience with this.
