I had a crack surface hours before a performance; clear nail polish (not my idea-my prof's) kept it sealed until I took it to a professional in Cleveland to have it pinned. I'd tell you his name, but he did not do a very good job at all (didn't seal after two attempts!) and I had to send it to Carlos.
