The postings above all have good suggestions. In addition, try adding additional fingers when you play the high C. E.g., add the righ hand E flat key; or add the low C key; or add the two fingers which depress the 'e' and 'd' keys of the right hand. On different instruments these additions will have varying results.
If someone whose playing you respect has the say thinness of sound on your instrument, then at least some of the blame for the thin C can rest with the instrument.
