In regards to you having trouble playing the higher notes on the oboe, try and think of "spinning" your air. Think of blowing from the very tip of your head and spin the air. That is what my very first oboe teacher taught me. If it helps, even raise your eyebrows as you are learning to do this...sounds a little silly, but it helps concentrate the air flow. Another thing to remember is to not clamp down on the reed or to close any part of your mouth, stay open and focused. If you remember to also say "AHH" as you're playing, it will definitely help.
