the thiner tone the higher you go is based on physics. The higher you play on any instrument the fewer overtones or partials you will have. BUT having said that what you have to do above G (space above staff) is color the tones. A number of things you can do is give the tones warmth with some vibrato---practice with long tones. Also you can back off the volume; many players feel they have to force the high tones and play louder; practice the oboe higher range playing softly; concentrate on warmth, holding the pitch with some vibrato. Now above high C note you have to back off vibrato since the overtones are so thin (almost a squeek) that you can lose the pitch and note if you try vibrato. With the real high notes you have to concentrate on attaching and catching the notes playing soft and loud. Clarinet is played (except for some jazz) without vibrato; do not play the oboe the same way.
