It's not a racist viewpoint and I don't suffer from racist guilt, it's a fact that these oboes are crap and not worth the materials they're made from, and the materials they are made from and workmanship (and that's not being sexist either) are of poor quality.
I continue to slate these oboes as they are all one and the same instrument from the same factory - it's just the name on the bell thats different.
The oboe I looked VERY closely at in more detail than you could imagine, even though it didn't have the name Barrington on it, was exactly the same as the oboe they're flogging to the gullible masses. Not a wise move if they want to gain a good reputation.
I couldn't find a good thing to write home about on these things.
The same instruments are on sale on eBay in Europe for around 900 Euros under several different names.

It's a poor copy of a Cabart oboe.
