Sorry to hijack, but Craig, I recently tried the Howarth XM. Having not been a huge Howarth fan, I was quite impressed. Very stable, very centred pitch and still a lot of character to the sound. Having said that, I tried two of similar serial numbers, and supremely disliked the second one!
To the OP, I have never purchased from Hannah at the Oboe Fairy, but I have made enquiries with her, and she has been fast, friendly and knowledgeable, so she definitely gets a vote from me!
