Hi,
Getting back into playing the oboe after a twelve year hiatus. I've been a musician since I was 12, an oboist since the age of 15. The last conservatory I attended was so stressful that I quit altogether and now, I think I'm ready to start again.
Seems like there are so many more oboists now than when I was in college (circa 1996-2001), and more oboe options since I played.
My first oboe was an MCW, then I had a Loree for the rest of the time. Thinking about purchasing another Loree since it's what I'm used to, and have it looked at by Chudnow later this month.
Any advice about reeds, and sheet music would be appreciated. I still have the motor skills, I still remember all fingerings, I'm just anticipating the embouchure and reading music will be the biggest challenges.
