The following web pages pretty much remove the kabuki from reed knife sharpening:

Double hollow ground (dhg):

One caveat: When it says in the Rosenberg article (dhg) to raise the blade 10 degrees, don't; lay the blade dead flat on the stone (or sandpaper if your predilection is to the Scary Sharp method)
