In my reedmaking, my reeds have turned out a consistent pitch in the low and middle registers, and are just a tad sharp in the uppermost register (above High C). I feel this is a good foundation for a reed, but how do I adjust the pitch of the uppermost register with minimal effect to the middle and low registers? I have experimented with the slope of the blend. I feel this is helping. I don't want to overadjust this area and loose stability and tone completely. Would it also be pertinent to adjust the slope of the heart? Right now the heart is shape fairly parallel. Should the heart have a slight taper in it to facilitate vibration? Is there another area that could be adjusted to achieve the desired result?
Thanks.
