Have you been using this same reedmaker all along? Were the reeds you got from this reedmaker working well for you at one time, but now have changed?
It sounds to me like there is something wrong with the reed -- the gouge, perhaps, or something changed in the scrape, or maybe just some really bad cane. Do they start out open and then very rapidly collapse, or are they relatively closed to begin with?
If it were me, I'd find some different reeds before I got upset with myself about my playing.
