I had tendonitis right smack in the middle of my Conservatoire studies. I got over it with LOTS of hot-cold water treatments and medical acupuncture (that is, sterile needles administered by an actual doctor).
Also what helped like crazy was tying twine on my bell and hooking that to my stand, such that don't need to carry the weight AND almost no loss of mobility while playing.
Today, I get other problems, very likely due to the same causes. My blog is about living with that. Most important POSTURE!
VERY IMPORTANT: see a physiotherapist! All the treatments above are really necessary, but they only treat the symptoms... you want to prevent the cause from occurring again. Take a look at my blog, especially these pages as combined in the following search results:

--- don't know how knife sharpening got in there, and there are a few other pages in there that might encourage you.
