Sorry, Mark, I didn't mean to sound so down about it, but from being involved on this forum for awhile, I assumed that taste in reeds was a lot more of a personal and almost experimental thing than I am experiencing. People are a lot more open to ideas at home, as well.
I think it would be a wonderful experience culture-wise, at whatever level it gets realised. For me, it has been good to know that the world doesn't just stop in my little corner, that there are bigger differences between cultures than can be seen from afar, and that nothing is bad just because it is different, it's just that.
