Not sure whether your budget will allow, but since you won't have anything to lose, buying a cor 1st hand from a reputable maker would surely be better than all your options from above. Contact Sound Alchemy, they make instruments by order and surely can meet all sorts of budgets and indeed they make good cors too. These instruments are very popular in the UK and i believe they also make "lower" end instruments so maybe it is worth a shot to contact them for a price list.
