Thanks for the tips. They are greatly appreciated.
I was able to locate and print out that oboe playing guide you mentioned in your post. It's entitled "Let's Play Oboe". Quite a treasure trove of data within its short pages. Am studying it closely and hope to make some headway with my playing (it sure is far different than the clarinet).
Currently I'm using the medium hardness reeds that came with the oboe. What did you use when you started out? Would you consider jumping to the harder reeds. And would you happen to know what they mean by synthetic reeds. Good? Bad? Indifferent?
Had a fair outing with sound production my first time out; however, the second time...goose call city! I have a feeling this is going to be an extraordinary experience.
