Check the reed opening If the reed aperture is very small then your sound is likely going to be thin and small also. You might also try a medium strength Jones reed. That shouldn't be too hard to play and it might help things.
Some reeds close down considerably when playing. They lose their arch quickly. Usually this occurs with older reeds but some reeds never have much strength in this way. Resoaking and squishing the sides lightly will help for a short time.
People also soak closed reeds in hot water.....this might keep them open a bit longer. Oh also if your Jones reed has a wire you can use the wire to open it up...This isn't great but it might help. I found Jones reeds without wire sounded better. Johh
