You're probably right about it being an Imperial, though the serial numbers and makers' name were barely visible in the ebonite. The case was solid and wooden, not the plastic+foam I remember from my old Regent.
How exactly can you keep the octave key pressed, but release the thumbplate for Bb and C? Slide the thumb upwards? Roll it up? What do you do for fast passages? That is the problem.
I know that I would just use the side 2nd octave touch out of habit, but I'm wondering what would be considered the "standard fingering" for top A through C on this instrument.
