Thanks for all of that. I have spent much time trying to look for images of various oboes.

There are good images of Moennig ( ? Mönnig) oboes that have identical shaped R little finger levers.

But I can't find enough pictures to see whether they are characteristic, or ubiquitous.

Buffet, Fox, Loree, Rigoutat, Marigaux are all tear drop shaped. I can't find images of any Markneukirchen makers (probably because I do not know actual names of any).

Any clue as to age? Does the serial number help date or identify it? If it plays well (which be somebody else's opinion, not mine!) is it worth getting overhauled?

What level of player would it have been made and marketed for in its time?

Sorry to pump for more information, but I just like to know these things!...
