Need recommendation

I played the oboe throughought Middle and High School. Now I'm in a community concert band. I have a Boosey and Hawkes Regent oboe that plays rather well for the most part except for some gurgling in the lower notes. I should probably take it in for servicing since it has been quite a while since it has been in the shop. Throughts?

The main reason for this post is to ask a recommendation for a good sub $1000 oboe. I'm a decent player but far from awesome enough to spend thousands on a super high quality instrument. The community band isn't that great either but has potential. I don't know much about the different brands. What might you suggest for me?
