Your teacher hopefully can guide you in this. In the meanwhile, try using a reed with less resistance. It may be that you are playing on a reed with a tone you like, but which has too much resistance for the vibrato you are accustomed to using.
The english horn is usually played with a slower vibrato than oboe. Experiment with slowly pulsing long tones, using abdominal pressure to create the pulses. Then gradually increase the pace of the pulses. When I do this, the vibrato automatically switches to my throat as the speed of the pulsation increases. I try to gradually increase the speed, and then decrease it as well, so that I can develop complete control over how fast the vibrato will be when I am performing. Try this in piano as well as forte to develop the musculature required in all dynamics.
It would be unrealistic to expect instant results. Enjoy the music you have the opportunity to play with the musical skills you currently have, and you will have done all that anyone could expect of you in the upcoming concert.
