Yesterday, I played at the British Double Reed Society convention in the masterclass held by Alex Klein. I performed extremely badly- perhaps one of the worst times ever in my musical life (!)- I was so incredibly embarrassed afterwards as it was a London convention, with so many people; I could just see out the corner of my eye more people walking in as my performance/advice from Alex Klein progressed...
Makes me think that next time when I'm REALLY nervous I won't choose something that is VERY likely to go wrong, i.e. Bozza, Fantaisie Pastorale! But it raised some very good points from Mr. Klein...
Just made me think about embarrassing performances etc. Hope to never have one like it again...
What are your most oboe-related-embarrassing moments?
Would love to hear them !
