 Zac,

Blowing into a cold oboe will cause the problem you describe (condensation). The oboe has to be warmed up before you play it, so it doesn't feel cold to the touch. The way to do that is to place top tube under your arm, reed well end up & middle tube under your other arm, tenon side up. After about two or three minutes, it should be warm to the touch. Then assemble the oboe, close all the keys & gently blow into it with no reed for about ten seconds or so; all this can be done while your reed is soaking, horizontally, out of water. When you finish playing, blow out the tone holes on the top tube against cigarette paper. Store the oboe in its case with cigarette paper under octave keys, trill keys & the small keys below the half hole key & middle finger key. I'm reasonably sure you teacher has probably told you to do this. If this doesn't buy you anything, I recommend you contact David Weber in Arizona for further guidance. As John Mack was fond of saying, don't take no from an inanimate object.

 Best,

 john
