One other small comment about the Barrington, it wasn't the failure or short comings of the oboe repair person in dealing with the three Barringtons that I brought it, it was the physical problems with the horns. The cluster of keys on the left had major problems on two of the horns. The keys actually hit each other and wouldn't move up and down cleanly. On the third horn, you had to be careful not to depress one of the keys fully or else the note wouldn't sound. You had to hold the key half way down in order to play the note.
Now for a beginning oboe player (like myself) that was just too hard to deal with. So, back they went to the source.
