Sandee, we just played one of Judi Morningstar's tunes at a dance yesterday, a tune I had always thought was "traditional". Can't remember what it was, though.
Have you ever attended the NEFFA Festival outside Boston? It's the weekend of April 20 - 22, a participatory experience of playing and dancing: contra, English, Balkan, klezmer and every other kind of folk music and dance there is. There are four open festival orchestras for contra, anyone can play, each goes on for 75 - 90 minutes of straight playing:-). Held in a suburban high school, the oldest and largest festival of its kind. You should go there with your whole band!
Tinwhistle is good!
