Cheers everyone!
Right now Purcell's 'Hail, Bright Cecilia' is playing on the radio, so that's cheered me up - maybe I'll do this next year as it's too late now, what with it being St. Cecilia's day and all that (but only for another 36 mins).
Strange that I got through West Side Story recently without any anxiety considering I was surrounded by several of the most respected players in the area (but did get into a tizz when the singer came in a bar early and I wasn't quite ready), though I suppose anxiety can crop up when you least expect it to.
Usually I get the adrenaline rush to see things through. But I really was ill-prepared for an onslaught of nerves and they got the better of me. I'll try the relaxation exercises next time I'm feeling iffy, and also make sure I have a drink with me (water, not booze) as there's nothing worse than trying to play with a dry mouth.
