It's the old 'once bitten, twice shy' thingy.
It's hit hard to have made a complete pig's ear of something I've managed before that has rocked my foundations. I know it can happen to anyone at any time, but even though I was apprehensive I didn't expect things to take such a bad turn and to have this level of performance anxiety (along with a pounding heart, stomach cramp and cold, sweaty hands). I know I should just let it go, but as I'm still reeling from it (as it's not only myself that has been shown up) I can't help but to feel disappointed in myself for blundering.
Oh well - live and learn. Maybe it's just the kick up the arse I need for being such a cocky git, and setting myself up for such a huge fall.
