Yes, not that I'd have opted for LH C# on a new instrument. Whoever bought it new in '83 was clearly into extra weight - what with the triple case as well!!

Interesting about the cor reeds Chris; how come you don't just use d'amore ones, especially as you are so close to a good source of them?

I'm using a Fortay reed on the 'new acquisition' at the moment; seems quite nice, but I might try Ke Xun Ge next - I find his cor reeds are absolutley stellar!
