I have a DM model (like one of the few in America basically and I got it on accident, haha) and I absolutely love it. I have had it compared to a Laubin oboe (from Fred Korman) and Royale oboes. Although there are not HUGE changes in the oboe, alot of people love playing on my instrument.
From what people have said:
-The scale from in the middle-upper range of the instrument is extremely stable.
-Good response in all ranges
-Reeds play on my instrument like no body's business
-The upper register is not bright and piercing.
-Dark sound
The only problems I have had with it is that sometimes its TOO dark, rather muffled. I think that's because of the actual oboe itself, not the model. I had to break it in longer than most people, it just did not want to open up which was frustrating for a year or two, but its fine now. Email if you have any questions!
