... or, do you want spruce it up as something strictly ornamental for home decor? In which case, after cleaning the silver & cleaning the wood etc, varnish the whole thing, several coats, to protect the shiny silver and jam up the mechanisms so it'll never play again
...or, if it isn't playable now, do you really want to pay $ to do the oboe world a real favor, take it out of circulation permanently, disassemble it completely and give the sad little thing a decent burial? Maybe there's some salvage value in the metal & fittings? Maybe ChrisP can advise you there?
