You apparently have never played other brands of instruments in order to have an oppinion of comparison. As a professional myself, I know of MANY profesionals who are no longer playingo on Loree's of any sort -- Royal, AK, etc.
There are many brands of instruments, that if you have (had) the chance to play, you may find compare or play better (and some MUCH better) then Loree -- Royal or the sort. An oboe is a personal preference, as is any instrument. There is no hard and fast rule that one particular oboe is the ultimate, end-all/be-all, etc. What is true, is that in the last 5 years, numerous companies have produced fantastic oboes to create the most exciting aspect of the current oboe world - CHOICE!
Don't be so quick to assume that Loree Royal is the best oboe therefore "why play anything else!". That may be your thought and preference, and that is fine. However, until you have compared it to at least 5 other brands of oboe, you shouldn't be so quick. BTW -- I currently play on a Loree, but in no way beleive it is the ONLY oboe or the BEST for that matter. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion, as you are..and as I am.
