It is only a little splotch that isn't visible in regular lighting, and the color of the splotch looks to be a dull white. So, I guess it is plating wear; due to a shoddy plating job in the first place. It sounds really nice, so, I guess I'll just get used to it. But, I'll still buy one of those treated cloths, and maybe it'll wipe off. But, you get what you pay for I guess. The instrument itself sounds really gorgeous, it is comparable to that of my professional Yamaha. Well, I'll just enjoy the instrument for what it is. Maybe I'll leave it outside for a couple of weeks, so it will match... :D
