this is a sort of like a case of goldilocks and the porage

... i love sound of well-played oboe and fingers fit just nicely, but it's so hard for me to play it well
... so occasionally i go back to fipple 'flute' (aka recorder), treble, however, finger holes are a bit too tightly spaced for long playing comfort
... anyway, I prefer mellow sound of tenor recorder much better, but fingerholes are a bit too widely spaced to close the holes properly
... maybe i'll have to get an alto recorder, it might be just the right size

... meanwhile i love trying to play oboe as well as my current ability will let me :-0
