The first few minutes of the switch are a bit difficult, as it takes a bit for the embouchure muscles to relax enough to play the flute properly, but there hasn't been a noticeably detrimental effect on my flute playing from playing double reeds, and I freelance professionally on both.
I have several flutes, but my primary performance instrument is a 10K gold Sankyo with a 14K white gold Williams headjoint with a rose gold embouchure and platinum riser. I also have a 9K reverse-aurumite Powell, two silver Sankyos, a 14K gold-bonded Muramatsu, a wood Sankyo; a Sankyo alto, and a Jupiter bass. (C# trill keys on all concert flutes ,as well)
