Nothing wrong with that, seriously, that is why technique and sound comes together as a very flexible thing! You need change in technique for change in sound. If the sort of legato tongue that has been mentioned is not achievable by your current way of tongue, you will want to consider to learn a new way to tongue, not re-learn how to tongue, that's the key.
Anyways, Woody, i am pretty amazed to hear that you have attended a masterclass with Alex Klein before! How is he as a teacher? And how did Jan Eberle suggested you change your tongue technique?
