Thank you for the reply.
I grew up singing in a choir as long as I can remember it, Dad was choir director. I have also been playing the piano since 3, wow.. over 25 years now. I have always adored the oboe through out high school and college. But I opted to be a singer and jazz pianist.
I was gonna buy a Yamaha 841, but decided to get a Barringon 810 instead and save money toward lessons. And now using Jones Med Soft reeds, I hope soon, may be by this winter to start learning how to make my own reeds.
I have always adored oboe players whom I have accompanied for various Concerto, I'm partial to Handel and Albinoni Concertos.
Picking up the oboe for myself finally, I hope that within a year I can do my first oboe recital featuring my own arrangements of Eric Satie, themes and variations from the theme to "The Missions", and an attempt to "Take Five" replacing the clarinet's line with the oboe.
Thank you again for the tips.
Music is life, the rest is detail.
