I had quit piano before starting oboe, played piano for about 5 years. I hated piano so much, I didn't know why back then. It was really hard and confusing. After I found that it was because of the bass and treble clef, it was immensely confusing for me to play different notes with both hands at the same time. I find oboe easier key-wise when you get used to it.
