I have used a Joshua +2 and Joshua +4 for years. I have recently experimented with the Caleb -2. I find that in the winter months or for primarily 2nd oboe playing I use the +4 more often. If I am playing principal I use the +2 for more clarity and brilliance/warmth in my upper register and throughout the horn.
I have never had success at even getting a reed to crow on a -1 tip or a Mack/Pfieffer. I get immediate success on any of the Adam Tips. I play on an O series Loree AK.
