Thanks for the advice.
I like the sound of oboe. I know I will not be able to produce the kind of sound I hear from music CD, but I still want to try.
Other instruments are piano, flute, guitar, and clarinet, in this sequence. I just started the clarinet.
I am an old man who will regret if I die without blowing an oboe.
I have read enough posts about oboe reed. I would like to avoid the reed trouble with synthetic reed if I could. youtube has a sound clip of synthetic reed. It was bad, but the recording was a few years old. I wondered if synthetic reeds progressed recently. Thanks for the replies and advice.
