I know its probably a bad idea to switch between 4 different staples a day, but I do, and I'm really enjoying Mark's products. I have his CA, E gold, and S gold, and they are all fantastic. I feel the CA has the most resonance, the S gold takes out lots of the highs (especially nice to control the plastic timbre of my rented Renard 333), and E gold is somewhere in the middle. I also have Stevens #1 and 2, Pisoni, and Loree 'AK' (for when I try one). The Stevens #1 is definitely too small in diameter to create the sound I need, and its hard to find a mandrel. The Stevens and Pisoni are both not symmetrical, with Pisoni being more obscure. All Chudnow models are spot on the Chudnow Mandrel. I'm not even working with the Stevens #1 or Pisoni anymore. I'm gonna continue with the Stevens 2 for practice, but will probably not be purchasing any more. Chudnow is expensive, but seems worth it. All seem really good with a less than superior scrape.
