Where cors can do with a rethink is the RH main action toneholes - especially the E tonehole which really ought to be positioned further down the joint and larger in diameter. The RH keywork layout is the biggest hurdle to overcome here.
But the main problem holding back the development of oboes in general are the players as they are a very traditional bunch and will reject radical designs which may make a lot of things easier in favour for tradition. So Boehm system and saxophone system oboes have bit the dust due to prejudice.
