A side note, OboeDrew and DrewSorensenMusic are two different people. I saw him before, and wondered if that may confuse some, but not a bother, I don't post much, I'm still learning.
I think this integration line concept is going to haunt me all night. At first glance, I thought Cooper was talking about the angle of the blend from the top. Now I think maybe the integration line is the angle of the blend from the side. This is something I will definitely be adjusting in my upcoming reed making (be it if I'm correct or not, doesn't matter).
A problem I've come across in my reed making is the reason for taking cane from the spine in the back of the reed. I'm really not understanding why pictures of almost all oboe players I've seen have a concave curve from the way back to the heart, but in my reemaking it just makes my reeds collapse. It's something I'm still working on, but is there something I should be listening for when I scrape the back? My current favorite reed has windows without scraping the spine, and I really like the feel of them.
