Loree oboe regular AK model 5 years old, never cracked, only oiled bore once during first winter with Naylor oil, bought in late spring, broke in over summer, swab regularly during play, blow out upper joint octaves with cigarette paper after every session, tends to accumulate water in third octave hole even when third octave key not in use. warm up top joint under arm, use leather computer case to transport, in winter with a scarf wrapped around the case to insulate moving from indoors to car, etc. Have no idea whether any of this is the reason for no crack, or just got lucky!!
