Ask about a warranty.... a 1 year old oboe should really be covered at multiple levels. By maker and seller...

I disagree about bore oil... I do it, and have only ever had one non-oiled oboe crack.

If water (condensed breath) leaches something vital from the wood, its probably more significant in the running water than in the residue of the evaporated water after swabbing.

I use oil to temporarily act as a barricade to the corrosive PH of the mouth waters...

Seriously, eat a couple tacos and play the horn. You could probably start a car or mid-sized truck off the voltage coming off your tongue. And the wood of the oboe would not/could not notice a thing.
