20 year old Buffet Crampon for a new learner?
Author: Saranya

Hello. Firstly excuse me as I am a complete novice. My 9-year old son is absolutely determined to play the oboe and I am looking to buy a second-hand one. A distant relative has a 20 year-old Buffet Crampon lying in the loft which I could have for a minimal amount. However I was wondering if this oboe was suitable for a child and also whether it had 'closed fingering' - something the school have asked for. I understand that it will need a service as it has not been played for 10 years. What would the difference be between a 20-year oboe and a newer one?
Thank you for any help!
