Only easier blowing reeds can help in endurance related to facial muscles. You must use as hard blowing reed as you can handle. That is your limit. If you have facial muscle type endurance issues, scrape some more to make it easier to blow.

I read endless reedbabbles in this board about how to make easy blowing dark sounding reeds. Some claim to work better than others. In reality, creamier and darker sounding reeds are harder blowing regardless of the length of scrape.

Many oboe reed/dark sound connoisseurs choose sound over music. That is a choice, I must admit. Find your own balance.
