according to oboe expert Peter Hurd, the LaFleur is a stencil instrument made by a variety of makers; he notes some can be 'high end' or very good (but not all! he cautions).

My own experience with Czech-made oboes etc is only 'fair', but my own experience (Cyprus, 1990) is pretty limited. If this is an older instrument, it may be better than a newer model. May be.

I hope you are able to give this instrument a trial before buying it.
